IDC Participation at 1st FOCAL Training School
As part of the HORIZON-MSCA Doctoral Network Free-space Optical Communication for 6G Aerial-sateLlite networks (FOCAL), IDC researchers participated in the 1st Training School of the project held at Fraunhofer HHI, Berlin for three days, from October 27th to 29th, 2025. FAU is responsible for the Doctoral Training in the project. Prof. Laura Cottatellucci introduced the new PhD candidates to the training school and gave a welcoming presentation. Dr. Vasilis Papanikolaou delivered a talk titled “Optical Intelligent Reconfigurable Surfaces for Free-Space Optical Communications,” while PhD candidate, Ferdaous Tarhouni, who is working on FOCAL, actively participated in the Training School.
