Bastian Heinlein (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in Information and Communication Technology and the M.Sc. degree in Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) in 2021 and 2024, respectively. In 2024, he joined the Institute for Digital Communications at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree as a doctoral researcher. He is also affiliated with the Resilient Communication Systems Laboratory, Technical University of Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany. Since 2026, he has been a member of the Graduate Center for Doctoral Researchers at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation. His research interests include complex systems, information theory, and communications engineering, with an emphasis on olfactory communication and machine learning for molecular communications.
