Prof. Schober was elected as IEEE Division III Director by the more than 40,000 members of the IEEE Communication Society for the term 2028-2029. In 2027, he will serve as IEEE Division III Director-Elect. The Division III Director represents the IEEE Communication Society as a voting member on the IEEE Board of Directors – the principle governing body of the IEEE. In addition, he serves as a voting member on the Technical Activities Board (TAB) of IEEE. The IEEE has in total 10Division Directors, each representing one or multiple different Societies. The IEEE Board of Directors has 31 members and is chaired by the IEEE President.
