Andreas Feder is now a “Dr.-Ing.”

We are pleased to announce that former IDC member Andreas Feder successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on March 6, 2026, thereby earning the degree of Dr.-Ing.

In his thesis, Design of Parameter Estimation Schemes for Blind Receivers of Paired Carrier Multiple Access Satellite Signals, Andreas investigated how satellite receivers can separate and interpret superimposed signals without prior knowledge of the transmitted data. He developed methods for estimating key signal characteristics, making such receivers more robust and efficient in challenging communication environments. His work combines classical statistical signal processing with modern machine-learning approaches.

He was supervised by Prof. Wolfgang Gerstacker.
