IoBNT Project Meeting in Dresden
The Internet of Bio-Nano-Things (IoBNT) Project Meeting took place on October 9–10, 2025, at TU Dresden, as part of the consortium’s regular biannual meetings to discuss progress and future directions. Project partners presented updates on their research since the last meeting in Erlangen. From FAU, four members contributed: PhD students Daniela Wegner (Chair for Bio-Process Engineering), Timo Jakumeit (IDC), and Paul Wolff (LITES), who recently joined the project as well as Prof. Jens Kirchner (LITES). Their presentations covered ongoing work on molecular communication in vessel networks, anomaly detection, and the development of light-stimulated vesicles for interfacing molecular and optical signals. Moreover, the meeting included two inspiring guest lectures by Prof. Stefanie Speidel from the National Center for Tumor Diseases in Dresden and by Prof. Bernd Plietker from the Chair of Organic Chemistry at TU Dresden. In addition to the technical program, a social dinner in Dresden’s city centre and a social lunch at TU Dresden offered opportunities for informal exchange and strengthened collaboration among project partners.
