Johanna Fröhlich wins Best Paper Award – Sustainability at IEEE CAI 2025

Johanna Fröhlich was awarded the Best Paper Award of the Sustainability Track at the IEEE Conference on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) 2025 for her contribution titled “Spicing Up LLMs: the Role of PAPRICA Pruning in Linear Computation Coding”. The work addresses the challenge of reducing the computational cost of neural network inference by combining linear computation coding with structured pruning techniques for large language models. The IEEE CAI is an international conference focused on applied artificial intelligence, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals across key AI verticals. The 2025 edition took place from May 5–7 in Santa Clara, CA, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and practical applications of AI in sectors such as manufacturing, robotics, healthcare, energy, and sustainability.
