Prof. Robert Schober gave a talk in the FAU seminar series “Collegium Alexandrinum” on the topic “Natürliche Kommunikationsprozesse nutzbar machen: Synthetische molekulare Kommunikation.” In his talk, he outlined the fundamentals of synthetic molecular communication (MC) and how natural signaling can be engineered for information transfer where conventional systems are impractical. The lecture connected communications engineering with biology, nanotechnology, and medicine, illustrating applications in the cardiovascular system, bioprocesses, and more. It also touched on current developments including the Internet of BioNanoThings, targeted drug delivery, and MC between plants and animals.
