The IDC was strongly represented at this year’s International Conference on Communications (ICC 2025), held in Montreal, Canada. Our participation spanned leadership roles and scientific contributions. ICC is one of two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society (COMSOC), alongside Globecom. It is recognized as a premier global forum for communications professionals and researchers to present and discuss the latest developments in the field.

Prof. Robert Schober attended the conference in his capacity as President of IEEE COMSOC. Dr.-Ing. Maximilian Schäfer served as track chair for the “Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications (MBMC)” track, contributing to the organization of a key area of the technical program.

Two papers from our chair were accepted for presentation:

  • “Near-Field Codebook Design for IRS-Assisted mmWave Communication Systems” by Moritz Garkisch
  • “Molecular Signal Reception in Complex Vessel Networks: The Role of the Network Topology” by Timo Jakumeit

Both papers were successfully presented by Timo Jakumeit, who stepped in for Moritz Garkisch, who unfortunately could not attend due to injury.

In addition to the technical sessions, ICC 2025 featured an engaging program with keynotes from industry leaders, panel discussions, industry forums, and networking opportunities.
